Brynn Lee Barrett

Here it is!  The baby blog.  Miss Brynn Lee Barrett was born Monday, August 4 at 11:03 am.  20 inches long, 7 lbs 15 ounces.  That's right, I said MISS!  I'm still surprised she's a girl!  It was so fun to not know the gender till she was born.  Definitely recommend that!

The birth story.  It's been a LONG HOT 9 months but this baby didn't want to come early despite my efforts to off-road in a RZR, run stairs, jump on the trampoline, and many other things to send myself into labor.  So we decided to get induced because I HATE being pregnant and couldn't stand it for another minute.  Monday morning, we call the hospital and they tell us to come in at 6:30 am.  When we get there, the anesthesiologist is in surgery so I told them not to start me till he was out.  I WANT THAT EPIDURAL!  Brysen was 3 hours labor and Brylee was 4, so I definitely didn't want to miss the window!  So we just chilled and waited till 8:30 to start the pitosin.  At 9 and the Dr. broke my water, and at 9:01 I got the epidural :)  It was just as I remembered it... BLISS!  Hi, my name is Suzi and I am an epidural-aholic.  I love it!

Anyway, at 10:45 I asked for the Dr and at 11:03, the baby came!  Remember, at this point, we still hadn't found out the gender of this baby.  In comparing the pregnancies, I was 90% sure it was a boy because the pregnancy was very similar to Brysen's and opposite of Brylee's.  So when the Dr. said it's a girl... well, I was shocked!  It took me about 24 hours to really sink in that I had 2 girls!  I seriously was so sure that this baby was a boy!

Happy Mama

Proud Papa
Brylee was the only one who thought it was a girl and boy was she excited!  Brysen's reaction was hilarious.  Not sure what that noise is or what it means, but well... he felt something about it!

Brysie was more interested in the cool window sill at the hospital than the baby.  He played up there for hours.

We had lots of family come see her later on Monday and on Tuesday at lunch, we went home.

The first car seat ride always makes babies look so small!

Braden worked from home all week which was SO awesome.  I wish he could be home all the time!  It is just fun to have him home for every meal, and have help with the kids... maybe he wanted to get back to the office but I loved having him home!  My awesome mommy stayed all week to entertain the other 2 hooligans while I figured out how to have a newborn again!  She cleaned my house, took my kids to the fair, cooked meals, and even took Brylee to the rodeo!  THANK YOU MOM!  Oh and we named her after my mom too.  Brynn "Lee" comes from Cherie Lee. :)  Love you mommy!
My wonderful, helpful, cute mama.  Brynn's Namesake :)

Sibling love!
Brynn never gets any attention around here.

Every morning, the first thing Brylee wants to do is hold Baby Brynn.  She's such an awesome little mini mama.

These 2 read lots and lots and lots of stories with Grandma Sue while they were here.  Thanks Sue and Joe for entertaining the troops!

Last Saturday while Brynn was sleeping, Braden took on the role of Dad of the year and set up the greatest slip n slide ever.  Brylee, Braden, and our 2 neighbors McKenna and Hudson played on this for seriously 3 hours!  After a few grass burns, Braden came up with the brilliant invention of the tobboggan.  So fun!

So FAIL!  Sorry McKenna!
