Fun with Family

Here are some pix of us havin some fun.  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family.

First, we went to Grandma Cherie and Grandpa Dave's house for the super bowl.  Her squished his big body into a baby doll stroller to watch the big game.  I thought it might collapse at any moment!

During the game, he got REALLY into the Jones sodas.

Brylee is growing up so fast!  She gave a talk in Primary and did such a great job!  When I asked her if she wanted to talk in Primary, she jumped up and down yelling "Yes! Yes! Hooray!"  I asked what she wanted to talk on and she said, "Jesus!  I love Jesus!"  So I got her a few pictures and told her some things she could say.  She added the first line all by herself!  So we got all ready on Sunday and went to Primary.  When they were reading the announcements they said "then Brylee Barrett with give a talk." and she jumped out of her chair and started yelling over and over, "They said my name!  They said my name!"  It was so funny.  So when it was her turn, she went right up and all by herself said the whole talk into the mic and held up the pictures and everything!  I didn't have to come up with her or tell her what to say or anything!  I was amazed and proud.  She is the cutest thing!  After Primary, we went to sacrament meeting - it was testimony meeting that day.  After each person sat down, she would say "It's my turn mommy!"  So I asked her if she really wanted to go up in front of all those people and talk in the big microphone and she assured me she did.  We started up to the pulpit and I asked if she wanted me to go first and she said "No mom.  I want to go first!"  Once we got up there, she leaned right over the mic and gave her whole talk again.  Word for word (without pictures this time).  Again, I didn't tell her anything.  She did it all herself.  It was so cute.  She is so brave.  Here is what she says in the video below: "Jesus loves me and I love Him.  I get praying time by him and I get sharing time.  And I get to listen to the prophet... and and I get to listen to Thomas Monson.  Jesus Christ.  Amen."
Almost word for word what we practiced... just added her own little twist :)  Good enough for me!  Oh and yes, she picked out her own outfit.  She calls it her baby jaguar dress, baby jaguar jacket and baby jaguar boots.  How much leopard print can one person wear?!  Oh well.  She's adorable.

Cousins came and played at our house.  The best part was the super bubble bath!  Love you Steph, Kenni, Ryke, Ty, and Colie!

Then it was V-day.  We had a candlelight fondue dinner :)

This past weekend we rented a house up in Park City and went skiing at the Canyons!  Thanks Mom and Dad for the best Christmas present EVER!  Missed you Steve!

After our trip, we came home to this great big kids!  Buddy is almost walking and his 1st bday is in 3 days!  And Brylee just gets cuter everyday!

Home Sweet Home

Well, we're officially moved in and renovated! Jessica Keck posted a bunch of pix of her new casa and it inspired me to do the same.  Here is a home tour with a few before and afters of the rooms we did the most work in.

The view from our front porch
Here she is!
And here she is after 14 inches of snow fell on Christmas eve!
Welcome to our new abode
To the left, you'll find the office/front room

Here's is the great room BEFORE...
And here it is AFTER! Braden laid the AWESOME tile and I did the wood.
Great room from the other direction BEFORE
And AFTER!
And the backyard in the summer
Complete with a sandbox!
And here's a look with the snow :)
Laundry room... very exciting.  Thanks Braden and Deryk for the stackable washer/dryer.  I love it!
Garage, also very exciting.
3rd car garage view - the dark shadowy place in the back is the workbench/tool/man cave.
Back inside.  Here's the front door from the inside.
Across from the office is the hallway.
Which leads to this very bizarre bathroom.  Someday the garden of Eden will go away... this is not that day.
Brysen's room!
Brylee's room!  Her bed frame and box spring are downstairs at the moment... hence her mattress is on the floor.
And the master bedroom.  Bought this bedding set for myself for Christmas :)  Braden made the nightstands out of our old fence.
The walk in closet!  Oh how I've needed this!
A different view.  Braden also made that dresser in the corner from our old fence too!
And the master bath.  We discovered it has 2 shower heads after we moved in!  That was exciting!
Let's open the Brysen gate and go downstairs.
Game/Toy central!
I made these little toy box benches and they work really great as seats for watching movies!  There's a super cheap little projector in the middle that plays the movies on the wall.  "Kids Only" theater!
Complete with a cute little kiddie space under the stairs.  Someday I'll paint cute little shutters around those windows.  This is again, not that day.
Guest room...
slash craft/sewing room.
Guest bath - yes that is a VERY green tub.  But it's jetted - which is so cool.
Guest room #2 / my home office (gym).  All the weights are in the closet.  Yes I'm trying to get into some personal training from home. :)  Coming soon - treadmill and spin bike!
And Braden's baby - the Theater room!  I never really saw the vision of a projector instead of a TV... until now.  It is pretty fun!
Oh and Braden even put in a little kitchenette in the back corner!  We're ready for movie night!  Just let us know when you're coming!
Enough about the house.  Here's just a few photos from recent events - I'm the worst blogger ever so here's a 2 month recap!  We went to Boise for Brylee and Penny's combined 3rd birthday party which Uncle Steve graciously hosted at his hotel.  It was so fun!

All the cousins were there!  Brysen, Cole, Penny, Brylee, Ty, Ashlyn, Ryker, Daxton, Kennidee.
Then it was Thanksgiving - of which I took no photos.  So moving on to Christmas!
The weekend before Christmas, we had a family shin dig at my parents house.  Everyone was there including these awesome people :)
Love my sibs!
Santa baby came to join
And big Santa came too!  All the kids loved seeing Santa...
...All except Santa baby.  Maybe he's afraid of competition! :)
Happy kiddies!
Even happier kiddies!
Christmas morning was just spent at our house with the 4 of us.  It was so nice!
Santa brought Brylee a princess outfit complete with earrings!
Here's Brysen with his first Christmas pile of presents!

And here's princess Brylee with hers.
2012 was an exciting year.  Here's to 2013!
